In late autumn, night falls deep.

After a cold rain, the whole world seemed to have fallen silent.

Joan placed her cane to the side and took her keys out of her bag. With a click, the lock opened, its sound startlingly clear in the quiet night.

Suddenly, a whiff of blood filled the air. Then, a sharp dagger pressed against his throat.

"No!" was the man's low and hoarse voice.

Joanne stiffened, her brain racing. Was this a robbery, or had she stumbled upon a terrifying serial killer?

"I'm wounded, I need to use your place to bandage myself up." He saw the hesitation in her eyes and spoke in a low voice, pressing the dagger against his neck: "Hurry it up!"

Joan could only resign herself to entering the house. The qin she was a three-story small building, the first floor was a qin shop, the second floor was rooms, and the attic was a training room plus a guest living room.

"The medicine cabinet is on the second floor, I'll go get it..."

"...Together." The knife at his neck didn't move.

Joan's back was beaded with sweat. "Sir, the nearest police station is only a 10-minute drive..."

Fearful that her words might anger the man, Joanna added, "If you were hurt by someone, it would be best to report it to the police..."

The man naturally understood the implication, and said in a deep voice: "Rest assured, I don't want your money, nor do I want to harm you."

Joe's heart was still on guard, but the dagger in the man's hand left her with no choice but to obey. She led him up to the second floor bedroom and found the medicine cabinet, handing it over to him.

The dagger that the man had placed at his neck was finally withdrawn, but he still coldly reminded him: "Take out your phone and put it on the coffee table. You sit on the sofa!"

Joanne pursed her lips and put down her phone as he instructed. Then, she sat on the sofa a little distance away from the man.

Joan could hear the sounds of tearing fabric from the man’s coat, followed by gauze and antiseptic…the smell of blood was so strong, it seemed like the man's injuries were quite serious, but he never made a sound throughout the entire process.

Joan's grip on her cane tightened.

Zhang's story was easy to get caught up in, so Joanne reached over from the coffee table and grabbed a glass, pouring some plain water into it. She gulped it down.

The stench in the room quickly dissipated, replaced by a delicate scent of peonies.

If Joan could see, she would know the man was fighting to control himself at this moment. His face was flushed, his fists clenched tight. This felt like more than just being hurt.

Suddenly, there was a ding from Joan's phone on the coffee table. She instinctively reached for it, but the man snatched it first.

He lowered his eyes and said, "A voice message from Qiao Xue came."

He finished speaking and immediately pressed play. A chorus of voices filled the speakers, a cacophony that made it clear they were engaged in some unspeakable act.

Joan's son stiffened again. What was Qiao Xue doing sending this to him when she had nothing better to do!

Then, a man's hazy voice came from the phone again: "Baby, I miss you~"

This sound instantly made Qiao An's hand freeze. It was Mu Haoyan! It was actually Mu Haoyan! The one who had been talking about Mu Haoyan non-stop!

Then, Joe Xue's voice came again: "Hao Yan, you're so amazing! Are you saying that I or my sister?"
