At 3 a.m., Jiang Xian was woken up by a phone call.

The other party, with a strong and potent air about them, succinctly dropped three words: "Come get me."

In late November, Jiang Xian braved the piercing cold wind and snow, arriving at the bustling entertainment venue known as Shengou Ma. He reached the door of an exquisitely furnished private room.

Someone at the door greeted, "Sister Xian is here, looking for Qingzhu?"

All standing in twos and threes were Xu Qingzhu's friends. Jiang Xian smiled faintly, "Is he inside?"

"Here I am, waiting for you!"

Jiang Xian took a step forward, then stopped abruptly, patiently asking, "Are you busy?"

As soon as the words left her mouth, Xu Qingzhu's friends all smiled suggestively and said, "We came out early, so we don't know if we're busy or not. But at this time, it's normal to be busy, isn't it? You go in and take a look yourself."

Although they were smiling, there was an undeniable sarcasm in their expression.

Jiang Xian had long been accustomed to this, a flawless smile on his face: "Thank you."

Xu Qingzhu disliked being disturbed. Last week, in the same scenario, he rushed in hastily and unwittingly interrupted Xu Qingzhu's private moment. He was hit by an ashtray and almost got hurt. After learning his lesson, he dared not repeat it again.

After knocking on the door and getting a lazy "come in," I pushed it open.

In the private room, only Xu Qingzhu and his newly adopted daughter Duan Weiwei were present. She was disheveled, her face flushed red, leaning against him with a bewildered yet coquettish demeanor.

In contrast, Xu Qingzhao, dressed in a neat suit and leather shoes, seemed less approachable. However, with a smirk playing on his lips, he exuded an alluring and dangerous charm, capable of drawing you into his depths in the blink of an eye.

But Jiang Xian knew clearly that beneath this serene and gentle appearance, a sinister devil lurked.

Standing at the door for no more than two seconds, he took measured steps forward and bowed beside Xu Qingzhao. He said respectfully, "Mr. Xu, the car has arrived and is waiting outside. Are you leaving now?"

Xu Qingzhu just nodded, her expression languid as she listened. She didn't even bother to lift an eyelid after hearing what he said.

Duan Weiwei on his side reluctantly said: "What are you going, Ah Zhu promised me to accompany me for a whole night, saying it and doing it."

Xu Qingzhu lightly chuckled, then perked up a bit. She glanced at Jiang Xian and asked, "Do you know this person?"

"I don't know him." Duan Weiwei glanced at Jiang Xian, then hugged his arm and whispered, "Can you get rid of him? I don't want anyone to interrupt us."

Xu Qingzhu's mesmerizingly deep peach blossom eyes, always so captivating, casually lingered on Jiang Xian's face. "Surname Jiang, that's my book. You can't just borrow it whenever you please."

He tilted his head and whispered in her ear, "I'd love to stay with you all the time, but as you can see, things aren't going my way. If I don't listen, they'll go back home and report me, cut off my cards, who do you think will buy you your designer bags and diamonds, huh?"

Duan Weiwei frowned, "That's really annoying, can't we just fire them?"

Xu Qingzhu neither confirmed nor denied, and with a seemingly indulgent tone, she said lightly, "Indeed, it's quite annoying."

A man's voice, full of playful teasing and scolding, drifted into Jiang Xian's ears. After a moment's thought, he figured that Xu Qingzhao wouldn't leave at this time anyway, and knowing how annoying he could be, he lowered his head and said, "Mr. Xu, I'll leave first then. If you need anything, just call me."

I waited for a while, but I didn't get a response.

Leaving the private room lightly, at last glance, I saw Duan Weiwei speaking and Xu Qingzhu laughing, doting and warm.

They looked like a match made in heaven.

After closing the door, a teasing remark followed.

"Well, it seems like Qingzhu doesn't need Enjie after all."

Jiang Xian calmly replied, "He's busy."

As for Jiang Xian being 'driven out', Xu Qingzhu's friends are already used to it.

Jiang Xian stood in the corner, chatting with them nonchalantly. They kept bringing up his relationship with Xu Qingzhao, mocking him relentlessly.

She began plotting at a young age to get into bed with him, breaking up Xu Qingzhu and her love interest, then marrying him herself. But she couldn't control his heart.

What a pathetic wretch, facing her fiancé's philandering she keeps up appearances and even forces a smile to accompany the child.

What appears to be Xu Qingzhi's fiancée and his book is actually just a repeatedly summoned servant, like a well-behaved dog that never bites.

Jiang Xian still smiled, occasionally glancing at the table, feeling that they were right, and even a little sleepy. He prayed that Xu Qingzhao could finish quickly.

To be disturbed in one's sleep is truly a bolt from the blue.

There was no displeasure on his face, and the group's fists hitting him felt like punching cotton. They lost interest in being angry and gradually quieted down. Just as they were about to stop, the door to the private room was opened.

Here comes a man with an excellent figure, his peach blossom eyes smiling as he sweeps lazily through the crowd. “What are you all talking about? You seem so happy. Tell me, too?”

Those people naturally wouldn't say anything sarcastic about Jiang Xian in front of him, just laughing it off and saying something casual.

"Fancy a chat?"

Xu Qingzhu's hand was wrapped around Jiang Xian's waist, a familiar and intimate gesture. Her other hand gently caressed his cheek as she spoke nonchalantly, "I can tell that Jiang Shu isn't doing well. Are you all bullying him behind my back?"

The words fell, unhurried and calm, and the faces of those who were laughing froze instantly.

Jiang Xian smelled the alcohol and scent of a stranger on him, silently avoiding his hand, and said softly: "No, we get along well, President Xu. It's late, the car is waiting outside, let's go back first."

He was very shrewd, knowing that Xu Qingzhu wasn't actually offering him support. He probably just asked out of curiosity. This man has always been unpredictable, and people can never guess what he's thinking.

"Are you in a hurry?"

His hand fell empty. Xu Qingzhu tightened her grip on his waist, but Jiang Xian was wearing a thick down jacket that wrapped him tightly, making it impossible to get any purchase. Xu Qingzhu's face wasn't looking too good.

Though he wore a smile on his face, it did not reach his eyes.

Jiang Xianwei smiled awkwardly: "No rush, if you want to keep playing, I'll wait for you outside."

His obedience did not win Xu Qingzhao's heart. The hand that had caressed his waist moved to the back of his neck, gently parting the hair there.

The man's hand was cool, icy cold, so much so that Jiang Xian shivered involuntarily. He felt a tightening as Xu Qingzhu grasped him, suddenly unable to move.

like a cat being held by the scruff of its neck, just sitting there obediently.

"Look at you, I was just casually asking. Why are you so jumpy? Bringing Jiang Shu out this late, if I had made you wait a few more hours, it would have damaged my reputation as a compassionate and caring man."

Jiang Xian forced a smile, his face taut and strained. The corners of his mouth twitched upward in a barely perceptible way.

Xu Qingzhao glanced deeply at him for two seconds, then abruptly withdrew her hand as if losing interest. She then casually wrapped her arms around his waist and said in a breezy tone, "Let's go."

This can be considered as a notification, so Jiang Xian accompanied him with a long farewell.

Outside, the wind was bitterly cold, the ground covered in white snow. The streetlights were dim, and Jiang Xian's footprints followed one after another as he was almost dragged along by Xu Qingzhao.

There is fire above him.

Jiang Xian didn't quite understand where his fire came from, nor did he mind its capricious nature. So, he remained silent and continued.

He rushed to the car and threw something inside without any patience or gentleness towards Duan Weiwei. It was probably because of hatred and disgust that he acted so roughly.

He brushed the snow off his shoulders and sat down.

The car door slammed shut with a loud bang.

The man's dark eyes were deep and intense, his emotions surging out unabashedly. With a handsome but cold demeanor, he uttered a few flippant words:

"Okay."
