Fu Yan was taken aback.

She always felt that the old master's words held a deeper meaning, but she had no evidence.

Huo Mingzheng flicked his lighter, his fingers cradling the flickering flame. He took long strides toward Fu Yan, approaching her in a few steps.

Fu Yan's heart skipped a beat and she instinctively took a step back.

Until a meow came from beside his feet, Huo Mingzheng bent down. Fu Yan leaned sideways and only then did she discover that the cat Huo Jing shuyu had raised jumped down from the flowerbed.

This cat is very pretty, with snow-white fur and eyes like blue beads. Fu Yanxiang really wants to hug it, but she and Huo Jingshu don't get along. Huo Jingshu won't let her hold the cat.

Ho Mingzheng picked up the cat, and with his hand still holding a cigarette, he turned it slightly, using his index finger to gently tap the cat's nose. The cat immediately purred obediently, its "dignity" completely gone.

Huo Mingzheng looked at the cat and smiled softly. "She told me, it's just an engagement, no big deal if I wasn't there. Just show up for the wedding."

Her chest felt tight and painful.

If she didn't even attend his engagement party, how could she possibly attend his wedding?

Ho Mingzheng put down the cat and extinguished his cigarette. He turned to Old Master Ho and said, "The wind is strong tonight, Grandfather, why don't you go inside?"

Grandfather Huo's gaze fell on Fu Yan for a few seconds before he walked into the room with his cane, turning to Huo Mingzheng and saying: "Come in with me."

That cat was circling at the edge of Huo Mingzheng's feet. He looked at Fu Yan, "Do you have something to say to me?"

Fu Yan endured the pain in her heart and smiled openly, "I already said my blessings that day."

Huo Mingzheng suddenly smiled, a rare and fleeting smile that vanished in the blink of an eye. He turned and walked into the house, leaving Fu Yan with a forlorn figure in his wake.

Leaving Huo's house in a car, as the traffic on the road gradually increased, Fu Yan's ears caught the voice of a man: "Miss Fu, we'll be following behind you."
