Through the crack in the door, one could see the pigpen was dark as night. The lights surrounding Zhang Dayong's hands swayed back and forth.

"Pull!" A voice rang out.

The uncle holding the rope was quick as lightning. The rope was pulled, one end firmly securing itself to the pig's hind leg. People beside him helped hold the rope, and in the midst of its run, the pig was suddenly yanked and fell hard to the ground.

"There came laughter from the crowd, "OK. Open the door!"

Hearing a noise, I tapped Leng Yang's shoulder. "Alright, it's starting."

Leng Yang nodded, ready to strike.

I opened the door, and a pig ran out in a panic. I was instantly intrigued.

Seeing that everyone around was gathered, the pig was scared out of its wits and ran around frantically. But no matter how far it ran, it would be pulled back roughly by the crowd beyond a certain distance.

Six or seven people rushed towards the pig, aggressively. Please calculate the area of the pig's shadow at that time.

Several uncles standing beside them teasingly said, "You two little guys, try catching it. Can you catch it?"

"Alright, watch this." I rolled up my sleeves, ready to get to work.

Cold Yang and I crouched down, ready to pounce. I grabbed its back, but it was too fluffy, and it slipped out of my grasp.

Leng Yang rushed forward, hugging its neck tightly. The 500-pound pig struggled fiercely, its squeals echoing in my ears. It shook its head violently, but Leng Yang held on with all his might, his veins bulging as he gripped it with both hands, gritting his teeth and wearing a fierce expression. His knees scraped against the ground, and I felt a pang of sympathy just watching him.

I immediately ran up and jumped on its back. It struggled violently, and I held on tight to its big ears, trying my best to prevent its long nose from hurting Leng Yang again.

For a fleeting moment, I struggled ceaselessly. I couldn't sit still. A sense of helplessness washed over me, and I realized I couldn't hold onto its ears any longer.

Mr. Chen beside them shouted angrily, "What are you doing?!"

The uncle beside me immediately stepped forward to help hold the pig down. I also fainted and rolled off its back, landing on my buttocks on the ground. They controlled the pig, and Leng Yang stood up again but because of his knee pain, he knelt down instantly and then quickly stood up again, reaching out and saying: "Are you alright?"

I nodded and took his hand. "Of course it's fine. And you, is your knee okay?"

Leng Yang smiled gently and said softly, "It's alright, get up!"

"Hmm."

Uncle Chen severely criticized them: “What are you doing! You let two children tame such a big pig by themselves.”

An old man smiled and said, "It's okay, just let them practice."

"Practice with them?! You grown-ups can't even handle it, and you're letting two children come. Do you really think this is acceptable?" Uncle Chen was still fuming.

Another uncle said, "Don't talk about it, the two of them are really amazing, especially the one holding the pork?"

“Yeah! That boy is really strong and tough! That pig kept pushing him, but he didn't let go.”

"Wow! Stars are amazing, you just appeared right on top of me, it gave me a fright."

Zhang Dayong smiled and said, "You all know him, he's Leng Yang! The grandson of Old Master Leng!"

"Oh! Really? I said how come it feels so familiar?"

"No wonder! He/She has always been amazing since childhood."

Leng Yang stood beside me with an innocent look on her face. Suddenly, the uncles all turned to us with smiles plastered on their faces.

Leng Yang looked at me with a puzzled expression, "Why are they all looking at us? Do we need to do something?"

I playfully said, "They must be praising us!"

Leng Yang smirked, "Do you think I'm impressive? Seriously?"

I looked at him, “Humph, none of you are as brave as me!”

Leng Yang suddenly became interested, “Oh! Really?”

I beamed with pride. "Exactly! I was the first one to rush up there!"

He smiled gently, "Oh yes, I was the first one to fall down."

I stared at him, "That's not even impressive, or you wouldn't be the last one to go up there!"

"That was me looking for an opportunity."

"Tsk, I don't believe it..."

A chilling scream echoed through the air, it seemed like someone was about to get stabbed.

Uncle Chen picked up a long knife, though old, it was still sharp. He stood before the long table, his face serious and calm.

Uncle gave us a look, and Cold Yang and I immediately ran forward. "Come on, you two, press down on this leg, don't let it get away!"

"Hmm."

Leng Yang held onto his back legs tightly, his shoulders pressing down on top of me. There was nowhere for me to attack. "Where am I supposed to hold him?!"

Leng Yang looked at me seriously, "How about you press on my back? Same thing."

I hesitated, looking at his broad back. A tempting thought arose, and I tentatively extended my shoulder to press against his, unable to meet his gaze as it rested on my back.

He didn't think much, suddenly, the pig under him, because of Dao Qingleng's eyes flashing in the cold light, desperately struggled before dying. A big commotion, I completely relied on once slipped onto the pig's butt, my arm pressing against its buttocks, my whole chest pressed against its tail.

The sound grew louder, more and more desperate. I clutched the pig's tail tightly in my panic. Leng Yang turned to see me and couldn't help but smirk. I immediately said loudly, "Get serious, don't laugh, you won't have any strength later."

He nodded obediently, then turned his head away with a suppressed smile.

Mr. Chen found the right moment, and a cold knife pierced the pig's neck. The intense pain swept through its body, and the pig struggled with all its might, trembling and twitching on the table in a desperate attempt to survive.

After a moment of terrifying shock, there came a calm and methodical dismemberment.

I stood next to Leng Yang, watching everyone expertly examine each part of the meat. Looking at the blood dripping from the board and the crimson blood in the basin about to clot, Leng Yang gently said, "Is it gory?"

I turned to look at him, "It's alright. That's just how it is when slaughtering pigs. Don't get used to it!"

He nodded. "I thought you'd find it cruel!"

I sneered, "Don't play the holier-than-thou card! I know what cruelty means."

Leng Yang didn't speak, he stared at me earnestly, his eyes filled with unfathomable thoughts. His expression was dazed, making it clear that his heart was weighed down by countless matters.

Discovering something was wrong with him, I asked, "Is everything alright? What's the matter?"

He recovered, managing a strained smile and saying, "It's fine, let's go."

I looked at him in confusion: "Where are you going?"

He smiled, "Let's go home, take a shower, your clothes are all dirty."

"Hmm."

……

"Leng Yang, you wash first!"

"It's okay, you go in first. I'll rest for a bit."

I have no doubt, "Okay, but don't sit on the sofa! It might get dirty later."

Leng Yang nodded and said calmly, "Okay!"

Outside the door, on the steps, Leng Yang sat listlessly, oblivious to the coldness of the stone steps. Leng Yang looked dejected, her eyes hazy and half-closed. She supported her head with her hands, rubbing her hair softly, and whispered, "Why come back at this time!"

Leng Yang took out his phone and looked at the message from Xiang Wan, "Do you still remember me?"

"I'm back, I miss you. Can we meet?"

A day and a night passed, and Leng Yang seemed to have lost his courage to reply. The text box was repeatedly deleted, words typed out were erased again and again with uncertainty. But he kept wanting to open it to check, his mind constantly remembering…

Looking at these two sentences, compared to the red exclamation mark above, Leng Yang didn't understand why he still hadn't deleted him after repeatedly feeling despair.

Lěng Yáng's heart was filled with complex emotions, along with a touch of excitement and joy. Recalling past events, Lěng Yáng finally pressed the button and sent the message: "I have never forgotten you!"

I feel much better now, but a little regret keeps rising in my heart. I keep looking at the chat box, repeatedly returning and opening it. I'm both anticipating the other person's reply and feeling uneasy, wanting to take it back but it's already too late.

Soon, the reality of “The other party is typing…” sent a visible tremor through Leng Yang.

"Really? I just know that no matter what I do wrong, my brother will forgive me."

Leng Yang looked, a smiling face appearing in his mind. Leng Yang's mouth twitched slightly upward, "Really, when have I ever lied to you!"

向晚 said: "Brother, when are we going to meet?"

"It will be soon."

I walked out of the bathroom and saw Leng Yang sitting on the ground. My heart ached instantly. I walked over slowly and discovered that Leng Yang seemed very happy and didn't notice me at all, but I wasn't happy...
