The August heat in An City was almost like being roasted on an open fire.

Under the scorching sun, Xia Zhenzhen only felt a chill in her bones. Her nails were almost piercing her palm. She trembled slightly, stumbling forward in high heels... with no destination.

I never thought a cheating scenario like this would happen to me, especially with my fiancé. The irony is that Fang Zijie cheated with another man. All the happiness I felt over the past year-plus was just a joke.

If I hadn't been in such a rush leaving the house today, I probably wouldn't have noticed.

Then, she would be marrying Fang Zhe with anticipation in a month...

What a fool.

"Xia Zhenzhen, stop!"

Then came Fang Zi's voice, filled with frustration and anger. His usual gentle face was now stern, and he quickened his pace towards Xia Zhenzhen. Xia Zhenzhen felt a pang of anxiety, her steps becoming faster...

Now, I don't even want to say a single word, not even a character, to that disgusting man behind me!

Fang Zi Jie was, after all, a man, and he was wearing high heels. So in just a few steps, he caught up. He grasped her arm tightly, his eyes cold and indifferent: "Xia Zhenzhen, you'd better pretend you didn't see what just happened!" His gaze was full of threats.

Xia Zhenzhen tugged at the corner of her mouth, eliciting a mocking smile: "Didn't see anything? Didn't see you actually with a male…"

"Slap!"

Xia Zhenzhen didn't say anything. Fang Zijie slapped her face.

His eyes were cold and cruel, a far cry from the gentle person he usually was. "I warn you," he said, his voice low and menacing, "don't speak another word. The consequences, I fear, will be more than you can bear."

Having said that, he looked at Xia Zhenzhen's expression as if he understood something. He said, "Are you jealous? Don't worry, I will treat everyone equally in the future, and we will all play together."

Want to play together?

"Disgusting," Fang Zijie said, glaring at Xia Zhenzhen. "Ugh!" With a tug of his hand, he grabbed her shirt—a flimsy one with the first two buttons popping open immediately. His gaze darkened as he prepared to carry Xia Zhenzhen back home.—

Xia Zhenzhen wrenched herself free from his arms, swung her high heel at Fang Zijie, and dove into the courtyard with the iron gate left open.

Looking at this courtyard, Fang Zijie hesitated a little. This courtyard... seemed to belong to the Yu family. In An, this was absolutely a place he shouldn't trespass.

Xia Zhenzhen was desperate, the courtyard was vast and empty. She saw the door open and rushed right in. She couldn't imagine what would happen if Fang Zijie caught her.

The living room is larger, but also just as empty.

I went straight up to the second floor, picked a random door, and barged right in.

"Bang!"

Ji woke up, bumping into a wall and falling backward. Instinctively, he reached out and grasped something. It was the wall itself.

"Bang!"

The sound of a heavy thud as someone fell to the ground.

Xia Zhenzhen only felt that her life was almost gone, dizzy and her eyes focused... A magnified handsome face appeared before her. His thin lips were pursed, showing that the master's heart wasn't in a good place. Those narrow and aggressive eyes stared at her.

Yu Chen's eyes were deep, this person though somewhat disheveled, couldn't hide their stunning features. Their temperament was pure, but their eyebrows and eyes were full of allure and flamboyance.

Click.

The water on the man's head ran down to his face, only then did Xia Zhenzhen react and hurriedly let go of the man's hand she was still holding. Her eyes panicked: "I, I, I'm so sorry."

Yu Chen's dangerous eyes were fixed, his eyes full of shock.

He actually didn't object to this person's approach, and even... had some other thoughts about it.

Xia Zhenzhen saw that the man didn't react, struggled a bit, and then said, "I'm sorry, can you please get up?" This man is so heavy! She was almost out of breath.

Yu Chen's eyes twitched, a hint of sarcasm hidden deep within them. His breath brushed against Xia Zhenzhen's face as he spoke in a low, rich voice: "I thought you liked this position."
