"Isn't that the eldest Miss Liang?"

"What kind of young lady? She's just a child abandoned by the Liang family from an orphanage to ward off evil spirits. Even her name is taken from a deceased person..."

"It is said that the Liang family couple plans to use this Miss to get married, and the marriage partner is that recently divorced, bald and almost fifty years old Mr. Li..."

The Liang family in Beicheng was a well-known wealthy household, unfortunately, the Liang couple's early luck wasn't good. They had two sons who both died before reaching three years old. Their third child was a boy who was frail and sickly from birth. The doctor said he wouldn't live past three years either.

The couple went to a fortune teller and were told that they needed to find someone to take on their bad luck, so that their own lives would improve.

To my surprise, it really worked! Since adopting 'this young lady', in less than a year, not only did the sickly Third Miss Liang Qin recover, but Mr. and Mrs. Liang also became pregnant again.

This banquet, ostensibly for the birthday of "Miss This," was actually a gathering hosted by the Liang family to network with prominent figures in politics and business.

Facing the sneers of a crowd of noble ladies, Liang Yongxi strode forward in her high heels, a bewitching and captivating presence.

Dressed in a dazzling red gown, she outshone all the others. Her face was beaming with joy, and she seemed warm and friendly to everyone.

After some polite greetings, Lin Yurong seized the opportunity to step forward and grab onto "Yongxi, do you still remember Li Shu?"

Mr. Li was very perceptive and spontaneously stood in front of Liang Yongxi.

Liang Yongxi smiled and looked at Li Zong, "Remember."

This Li always lost at gambling since he was young. He heard somewhere about a lucky koi that could bring good fortune, so whenever he played cards, he'd have it sit beside him. It's really strange, but every time the koi is present, he wins.

I called him Uncle Li since I was little, but after I moved out of the Liang family at sixteen, I never saw him again.

"Your Uncle Li has been thinking about you all these years, he's single now, and..."

"Mom, there are so many people here. You're making me blush," Liang Yongxi interrupted Lin Yu Rong's words. His white face flushed red, looking truly embarrassed.

Li Zong found Wan Yao to be graceful and beautiful, her chubby face beaming with lascivious smiles.

Liang Yongxi clenched his fingertips secretly, his voice low: "Uncle Li, how about we make a private appointment?"

Li Zong's heart was filled with joy. "Good, good!"

To ensure the success of the marriage alliance, Lin Yurong instigated Li Zong to meet Liang Yongxi the next afternoon at three o'clock.

Liang Yongxi smiled and agreed.

That night, after dealing with Liang's family, Liang Yongxi was finally able to leave.

As soon as I got into the car, the smile on my face slowly faded away.

He laughed until his cheeks ached, waiting for the furious person to charge over before driving home.

The house was pitch black, the vast mansion devoid of any life.

Her husband rarely returns home.

After washing up, I lay in bed and checked my phone. There were tons of birthday wishes from colleagues and celebrities on WeChat. After browsing through them, there wasn't anyone's.

The companion I yearned for, there was no indication at all. Suddenly, I felt this birthday was utterly flavorless, let alone... This day wasn't my actual birthday anyway.

Before going to sleep, I couldn't help but take out my marriage certificate and look at it repeatedly. I was so fortunate that I had gotten married three years ago. Tomorrow, using the man on my marriage certificate, I will definitely make Mr. Li get as far away from me as possible.

The next afternoon at three o'clock.

A Western restaurant.

When Liang Yongxi arrived, Li Zong had already been sitting there waiting. Upon seeing him, his eyes immediately lit up.

Liang Yongxi sat opposite him, her pretty face full of difficulty.

Li Zong noticed something was amiss and naturally asked, "What's wrong?"

Liang Yonghsi lowered her head and took out the marriage certificate from her bag, handing it to Li Zong with a face full of regret. "Uncle Li, we are destined not to be together in this life."

Mr. Li took the marriage certificate in bewilderment, initially suspecting Liang Yongxi had forged it to deceive him. However, when he saw the groom's name and photo on the certificate, he was completely stunned.

It took him a long time to finally speak, "Xiaoxi, you were deliberately deceiving me, weren't you?"

According to the date, Liang's eldest Miss had already been married for three years, and her husband was Lei Mo, the heir of the Lei family who spanned the north and south cities.

Liang Yongxi smiled and shook his head, "If you don't believe me, I'll prove it to you."

He suddenly got up and walked toward the elevator.

The elevator door creaked open, revealing a group of impeccably dressed Englishmen. The man at the front was surrounded by an entourage, his face a mixture of charm and coldness. He possessed an aura of power that kept everyone at bay.

Liang Yonghxi, however, smiled brightly and walked up to the man, sweetly calling him "Husband." In the man's momentary daze, she leaned forward, hugged his neck, and kissed him directly.

The man froze instantly, raising both hands to push away.

Liang Yongxi leaned into his ear and whispered quickly, "If you push me away, I'll tell grandpa."

The hand on the waist paused, then tightened its grip.

"Liang Yongxi, do you even have any shame?" The man's voice was cold, sending chills down anyone who heard it.

Liang Yongxi chuckled with a thick face, gesturing him to look at Li Zong's direction, "See that old man? He's the arranged marriage partner Liang family set up for me. Do you choose to go with me and explain our marital relationship to him? Or do you choose to just let me have a hug?"

He can choose the former.

Unfortunately, Lei Mo didn't make it as hoped.

He waved away the company employees and partners, choosing to stand still like a log.

Liang Yongxi lowered his head, his face burying in his mouth. After a few seconds, the blush faded from his face.

When she looked up again, she smiled at his handsome face and kissed him. "Honey, it's been three years since we got married. You haven't even acknowledged my birthday or our anniversary. Even if my heart were made of stone, it would be cracking."

Although it was a complaint, the tone used was lighthearted and teasing, sounding more like flirting with a man.

Lei Mo let out a cold snort. "How did our marriage begin, Miss Liang? Don't you have any idea?"

Liang Yongxi's heart ached.

Do you still remember what Grandma Lu Congman said when she approached me? “The reasons for choosing you are: first, your grandfather is seriously ill and needs a granddaughter-in-law to bring good fortune. It's rumored that you're a lucky charm. Second, compared to that other person, I'd rather have you as my daughter-in-law for now.”

Lei Mo's attitude was that as long as it wasn't 'that person', he didn't care who he married.

Knowing full well that this marriage began poorly, she plunged headlong into it without hesitation.

After three years of marriage, he wouldn't even bother.

They were just a nominal couple with no substance.

As I glanced, I saw Mr. Li's face had turned pale, while Lei Mo's patience seemed to be wearing thin. Just in time, he let go of him and walked towards Mr. Li.

Mr. Li was so startled that he jumped up and ran out in a hurry.

The fleeing figure was like someone escaping a raging flood.

Liang Yongxi stopped, wanting to say a few words of praise to Lei Mo.
