Jiangcheng Airport

A ragged beggar, head raised to the sky, wept with tears welling but not falling. Sometimes he wailed, sometimes he laughed.

"Damn it, I'm finally back! My homeland, my hometown, I've finally escaped that hellhole. Jiangcheng, I'm back! Hua Xia, I'm back! Yang Jie is back!"

Those around looked at Yang Jie, their expressions indescribable, simply thinking he was a madman who had escaped from a psychiatric hospital.

Yang Jie would never forget being kidnapped by human traffickers a year ago and taken abroad. At that time, he was used as a test subject, those people seemed to treat humans as experimental subjects. He managed to escape later and met an old man who gave him cultivation techniques and an iron ring...

Thinking of this, Yang Jie unconsciously took off the ring on her finger.

"Hey, crazy guy, are you okay? Should I get you in touch with a mental hospital?" A cold and sarcastic voice came from behind Yang Jie.

Yang Jie turned his gaze, and saw a beautiful young woman looking at him with disdain.

It is very beautiful, a top brand. But what attracted Yang Jie's attention most was the other party's two straight long legs and her 36D bosom...

"What are you looking at? I bet your titanium dog eyes can't even see straight."

Instinctively, one's hand went up to shield themselves, realizing under the other's gaze there was nowhere to hide.

On the plane, this smelly beggar kept staring at me with a creepy expression, which made me very uncomfortable.

Yang Jie sneered and said arrogantly, "My eyes are on my own face. I look wherever I want. If you don't want to be looked at, you can just stay home!"

"You... you are shameless."

"I have teeth, don't you believe me? Look." Yang Jie grinned, showing off a row of pearly white teeth.

You bastard!

Her spirit used to soar, like a little princess ruling her own castle. But ever since she met this scoundrel, she hasn't had the upper hand in a single verbal exchange.

According to experts, if a person sees someone they like, they might do some unique things, even say nasty things to get their attention! This behavior is called "psychological perversion." I see you have this potential, be careful! Of course, if you really like me, I can reluctantly let you be my spare tire. Yang Jie had just run out of that spooky place and was in a good mood, so he couldn't help but tease her a couple of times.

"You're the one with psychological problems, your whole family is messed up!"

Gritting my teeth, this scoundrel doesn't have any manners at all. The moment he opens his mouth, he starts talking like a pervert and even says to be a spare tire?

How ridiculous, I am Su Xuer herself!

In the whole city of Jiangcheng, countless people aspire to be someone's backup plan, yet they are all disregarded. How could anyone possibly want to be a spare tire for a beggar?

Yang Jie, faced with the angry scolding, simply shrugged his shoulders, unconcerned.

Su Xuer looked at Yang Jie's unrestrained appearance, secretly gritting her teeth.

"Kid, do you know who our young lady is? If you keep talking nonsense, we'll tear you apart!" Several black bodyguards stepped out and glared.

"Holy crap, a personal bodyguard? You're not showing it. You must be a real rich dude!" Yang Jie put on an exaggerated show and hurriedly grabbed his hand, changing his attitude 180 degrees. He fawned, "My apologies, my name is Yang Jie, never change my given name or seat. I’m known as the unruly one… They say my ancestors are descendants of General Yang Ling! How about it, wanna be friends with a rich guy? Give me your WeChat, QQ, phone number, even your home address. If you're willing, I can even make you my official girlfriend!"

"Let go!"

Sue's face flushed red.

From a young age, she had never been touched by anyone outside of her family. She longed to break free from his grasp, but Yang Jie's hand was like a pair of iron tongs, impossible to pry open.

What's even more infuriating is that this guy isn't being honest with his own palms.

Su Xue'er secretly classified Yang Jie as a good-for-nothing kept man and felt great disgust towards him.

The bodyguards around saw Yang Jie's appearance and glared at him. If the young lady wasn't still in his hands, they wouldn't be able to contain themselves and would have attacked.

"Fine, I'll let go! You don't have to be so distant," Yang Jie said hastily as he withdrew his hand, seeing Su Xuer being about to erupt.

Let's go.

Although Su Xuer was willful, she hadn't thought about letting her bodyguard beat Yang Jie up. She took her bodyguard and got into a Bentley.

"Wow, a Bentley! A million-dollar luxury car!" Yang Jie put on an exaggerated expression and shouted at the car: "Since we've met, it must be fate. Take me for a ride! I can suffer a little, let me chase after you. How about that?"

Su Xuer left without a word to Yang Jie, driving away in her car.

Watching the other person's departing figure, Yang Jie grinned, pulled out a cheap cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and the sneer on his face vanished. He casually hailed a taxi, "To the slums."

The driver, hearing "shanty town," glanced at Yang Jie's beggar's clothes and asked suspiciously, "Do you have any money?"

Yang Jie patted his pockets and said helplessly, "I don't have any."

"No car of yours? If you were, I might even give you a ride. You're like this..." The driver glared impatiently at Yang Jie.

"Hey man, I may not be the one you're looking for, but I'm pretty handsome, don't you think?" Yang Jie said shamelessly.

The driver glanced at Yang Jie and said nonchalantly, "Psycho." Without giving Yang Jie a chance to retort, he drove away.

Yang Jie didn't smile bitterly, he really was a man who couldn't stand poverty!

The shanty town is only more than twenty kilometers away. For him, walking more than twenty kilometers is nothing.

Thus, a bizarre scene appeared on the streets of Jiangcheng.

A ragged beggar ran down the street like a whirlwind, sprinting with such speed that he repeatedly dashed past oncoming vehicles.

"Holy crap, this guy can't be The Flash, can he? He's moving at like 200 miles an hour!"

The driver stared at the figure crossing in front of him, his eyes wide with shock. He was so lost in disbelief that he almost crashed into a telephone pole.

As the name suggests, a shanty town is where the poor live...

But in the shantytown there was a hut more dilapidated than any other, made of thatched grass. That was Yang Jie's home.

When Yang Jie was very young, his parents died in a car accident.

He was raised by his uncle, and his uncle's family was wealthy. However, he didn't want to rely on his uncle's family, so he has always lived in the slums.

After a year, when Yang Jie once again stood at the doorstep of his home, he was filled with mixed emotions.

This year, so much has happened. He always thought his second half of life would be spent dying far from home. It was the appearance of that old man that changed his fate...

Yang Jie sighed and took out a key from his bosom. He pushed open the door to his house.

The house was very rundown, with one bathroom, an old black and white television, and a dilapidated bed...

Yang Jie looked at the humble little house, without a hint of disdain, but rather with great nostalgia.

The house was very clean, it should be someone who comes over often to clean. Was it my aunt or cousin?

Yang Jie shook his head, tossing the thoughts in his mind aside. Looking at his own filthy appearance, he couldn't help but smile wryly.

This way, being treated like a beggar is normal.

Yang Jie finished the drink in three gulps and was about to head to the bathroom for a shower when there was a loud bang. The door flew open, and someone rushed in, colliding with him full force.

Yang Jie instinctively took two steps back and, squinting, saw that the person who had come was none other than Su Xuer.

Su Xue'er froze the moment she stepped in. She never expected to see a carefree man standing before her. She unconsciously cast a glance at Yang Jie, her small eyes bulging, filled with disbelief. After a long silence, she finally let out a sharp cry.

Yang Jie was stunned. He had already recognized the person who came. Although he was surprised how Su Xueer could be here, following the principle that if you're going to suffer, I'm going to suffer even more, he let out a deafening roar. That voice, it was so heart-wrenching, just hearing it made people cry.

Su Xue'er was startled and stopped her tirade, but when she saw that the nearly naked man was Yang Jie, she couldn't help but be surprised, "How did you get here?"

Yang Jie seeing the other party was gone, stopped his howling and said seriously: "That sentence should be me asking you. This is my home, I ask you, why did you follow me?"

“Who…who is following you?” Su Xue’er argued, but when she heard footsteps outside, her face changed slightly. She subconsciously looked out the window and saw a group of menacing men lurking outside. A flash of fear crossed her eyes, and she hurriedly covered Yang Jie’s mouth and blinked at him repeatedly, signaling him to be quiet.

Yang Jie scoffed and didn't buy it. He casually picked up his clothes and put them back on, then brazenly said: "Just because you have money doesn't mean I'm easily swayed. You're currently trespassing, which is already a crime. If you want to push me down further, that's attempted assault, which is also illegal! Give me two hundred dollars, or I'll sue you in court!"

"You shut up." Su Xuer whispered through gritted teeth, but remembering the people outside, she softened her tone. "Let me stay here for a while, and I'll give you five hundred!"

"Five hundred?"

Yang Jie pretended to consider it for a moment.

"One thousand!"

Su Xuer was afraid that Yang Jie wouldn't agree, so she hurriedly increased the stakes.

"A light appeared in Yang Jie's eyes. He took Su Xue'er's hand and said enthusiastically, "To think we'd meet like this! We're clearly destined to be together. Isn't it true that people who aren't family never get along? I felt a kinship with you the moment I saw you. Come, come, sit wherever you like. Make yourself at home! Don't be shy. Just let me know if there's anything you need!"

Seeing Yang Jie's face change faster than a book, Su Xuer was speechless. She thought to herself: Are you only kind when money is involved?
